Defence PSU reports robust growth

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has received orders worth Rs.14,338 crore during the first half of the current year, boosting order-book to Rs.48,995 crore as of 1 Oct 2018.

BEL, a leading Public Sector Defence Unit, also achieved a robust growth in turnover of Rs.3,282.40 crore, during the 2nd quarter of FY 2018-19, up about 35% over the turnover of Rs.2,431.73 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Profit After Tax (PAT) during the 2nd quarter of FY 2018-19 stood at Rs.571.31 crore, an increase of about 39% over Rs.412.39 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

BEL’s first half FY18-19 turnover was Rs.5,360.24 crore, up about 27% over the turnover of Rs.4,204.56 crore recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.
