Project for fishermen and cruiseships

Site of breakwater harbour.

The Nivati-Medha breakwater harbour in the Konkan region of Maharashtra is being considered under “12 Champion Sectors initiative” of the Ministry of Commerce.

Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu said a project proposal has been submitted to the Maharashtra Maritime Board.

Prabhu has directed concerned officials to expedite the construction of the breakwater harbour on getting the Board approval.

The breakwater harbour will help the fishermen to haul a better catch even in adverse conditions and boost the tourism industry by allowing cruiseships to dock. fiinews.com
