Projects reviewed regularly
Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Mansukh Lal Mandavia, said 1,417 projects, worth Rs.432,538 crore, were currently under construction.
Out of these, 71 projects, covering a length of 1,647-km and amounting to Rs.21,042 crore, were Kerala and West Bengal.
Meanwhilee 343 projects are facing problems and are being delayed with completion expected by Dec 2020.
Regular meetings are held with project developers, State Governments and contractors to ensure timely completion of the ongoing projects, he told parliament on 16 Mar 2018.
Project progress is regularly reviewed.
To expedite completion of these projects, various steps are being taken such as streamlining of land acquisition, environment clearances, exit for equity investors, premium re-scheduling, close coordination with other Ministries, revamping of dispute resolution mechanism, frequent reviews at various levels. fii-news.com
