Shanbhag to lead Asia Pacific businesses
India is a very dynamic environment and is driving innovation in core telecom infrastructure such as 5G technology, said Vikram V. Shanbhag, Coriant’s newly appointed managing director for Asia Pacific South.
“For example, 5G represents an enormous leap forward in capacity and speed for its solid base of 300 million connected users that are currently driving data capacity requirements,” said Shanbhag who will lead Coriant’s initiatives in India and throughout the region.

Shanbhag’s appointment comes on the heels of Coriant’s agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, India’s largest telecom provider, which enables the two entities to jointly fast track the development of 5G and IoT technology infrastructure for India’s growing base of connected citizens.
Shanbhag will oversee operations, business development, sales and channel strategy, and customer support operations in the region, including India, from Coriant’s Gurgaon offices.
