Sikkim declared organic state
About 65 proposals are in the pipeline for the “Venture Fund” which was recently set up for start-ups in the Northeast Region.
The Fund would provide financial relief particularly to young entrepreneurs planning to start ups in the region, for the Development of North Eastern Region, said Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.
He also pointed to the three Mega Food Parks in Assam, Tripura and Mizoram while Sikkim has been declared the first Organic state of India.
Among other developments, a region-based North East Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS) has been started, incorporating upgrade of smaller roads.
