Desalination plant to treat sea water for desert state
The Indian Government has a plan to construct a 850-km canal from Gujarat to bring sea water to Rajasthan which is known for its deserts, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia has told visiting Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak.
“We want to bring sea water for desalination, and we are also planning to build large dams. Water is a big problem for us…so Malaysian companies with expertise can participate in this big projects,” she said, calling for Malaysian technology participation.
Speaking during a “Briefing and Discussion On Project and Investment Opportunities In Rajasthan”, in Jaipur on 2 April, Vasundhare highlighted Rajasthan’s projects such as roads and highways, four smart cities, affordable housing, mining and transportation.
The Chief Minister had recently announced development of 5,000-km of roads and 1,000-km of state highways. fii-news.com
