Health project will benefit people in hills
India has signed a US$100 million financing agreement with the World Bank for the “Uttarakhand Health Systems Development Project” on 25 March 2017.
The State government will provide US$25 million of the total US$125 million cost of the project, largely to benefit the hilly areas.
The project has two main components, (i) Innovations of engaging the private sector; and (ii) Stewardship and system improvement.
It will have multiple self-contained clusters of clinical services managed by operators on a Public Private Project (PPP) basis, providing services for free or at nominal charges, backed up by a robust oversight and monitoring mechanism fully integrated with the expanded health insurance program in the State. fii-news.com
