#Rural Electrification Corp (REC) is giving a Rs.6,890 crore financial assistance to power generation and transmission utilities in Tamil Nadu.

It signed a loan agreement on 28 January 2017 in #Chennai with #Tangedco and #Tantranscop for a 800-megawatt supercritical thermal power plant, renovation and modernization of existing plant and setting up of new 765 KV, 400 KV substations.

REC said it also lend to upcoming #Udangudi supercritical thermal power project, renewable energy, energy conservation, smart grid and automation power projects in the state. fii-news.com
