Bids for Amaravati
Singapore companies are now bidding to develop the core of the Amaravati, a state capital in Andhra Pradesh, Trade and Industry Minister Lim Hng Kiang has said.
“Singapore is working closely with India is smart cities and urban solutions. Our companies helped masterplan Andhra Pradesh’s new capital city Amaravati,” said Lim at India’s Republic Day celebration held in Singapore by the Indian High Commission.
“We are also exploring a collaboration to develop skills training in North East India,” he said.
Singapore has helped set up a Centre for Excellence in Tourism Training in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
Singapore’s investments in India have grown nearly 20 times since 2005 to S$19.4 billion, making it one of the top foreign investors in India.
The investments are in ports, logistics, manufacturing and an array of other sectors, said Lim at the celebration held 26 Jan 2017.
Amaravati is to be built over 10 years and spread over 54,000 acres, is technology heavy. fii-news.com
