Nokia snares Vodafone deal
#Nokia has secured a US$500 million Vodafone contract for 4G network deployment and expansion across 10 of India’s 22 telecom zones.
Nokia is deploying and expanding 4G LTE network for #Vodafone India in Kolkata, Mumbai, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu-Chennai, Haryana, UP East, West Bengal, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir, reported Economic Times on Jan 26, 2017, people familiar with the deal.
Last year, Vodafone India acquired multi-band 4G-capable spectrum across 1800, 2100 and 2500 MHz bands in all its key telecom circles for abut Rs.20,280 crore.
It has over 200 million customers, 106 of which are in rural areas.
Nokia has a similar US$500 million 4-G contract with #Bharti Airtel. fii-news.com.
