FDI US$310.76bn
India has received US$310.26 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) between April 2000 and September 2016, according to data compiled by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion.
The FDI inflow was US$21.62 billion in the first half of this year.
Around 33 per cent or US$101.76 billion of the FDI came through the Mauritius route, with investors taking advantage of the double taxation avoidance treaty between India and the island nation.
Big investors were from Singapore, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
The country’s services sector received 18 per cent of the cumulative FDI inflows, followed by construction, computer software & hardware, telecommunication and automobile. fii-news.com
