Paradip to compete globally
The port city of Paradip is to be developed as World Class Smart Industrial Port City to be globally competitive, said Joint Secretary (Ports) Pravir Kishn at the Ministry of Shipping.
The presence of mineral resources in the eastern region of the country will also make Paradip a hub for Micro Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME).
Paradip will be built on a Public Private Parntership (PPP) basis and it will have Multi-modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), Industrial Parks, Residential and Commercial areas, water management system, waste recycling centre & creek development programme for tourism.
The city will be spread across 6727.17 acres, out of which 1652 acres will dedicated to the residential area. The industrial area will be spread across 1,950 acres and custom bound area across 3,115.17 acres.
It will also have a Rs160 Crore Solar Energy Park of 20 MW spread over 90 acres of land. 10 MW of which is to be completed by March 2017 and the rest by December, 2017. fii-news.com
