Rail projects approved
The cabinet has approved nine projects, covering 1,937.38 km of rail lines and costing RS24,374.86 Crores across states on August 24, 2016.
The projects are:
Construction of 2nd railway line between New Bongaigaon and Kamakhya in Assam. The 176 km will cost Rs2,586.85 Crores;
Construction 3rd line between Kharagpur (Nimpura) and Adityapur in Jharkhand. The 132 km will cost Rs1,483.36 Crores.
Construction of 3rd line between Rajnandgaon-Nagpur (Kalumna) in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh and Gondia, Bhandara and Nagpur Districts in Maharashtra. The 228.3 km will cost Rs2,193.53 Crores.
Construction of 3rd line between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The 273.80 km line from Mathura to Jhansi will cost Rs4,377.13 Crores.
Construction of 152.57 km 3rd line between Jhansi and Bina will cost RS2,273.84 Crores.
Construction of 3rd line between Madhya Pradesh. The 280 km rail line between Itarsi and Nagpur will cost Rs2,882.94 Crores.
Construction of 3rd line between Telangana and Maharashtra. The 201.04 km line between Ballarshah and Kazipet will cost Rs2,403.22 Crores.
Construction of 3rd line between Vijaywada and Gudur in Andhra Pradesh. The 287.67 km line will cost Rs3,875.68 Crores.
Construction of 4th line between Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The 206 km line between Jharsuguda and Bilaspur will cost Rs2,298.31 Crores. fii-news.com
