Green Strategic Partnership for companies to develop global solutions
The European Free Trade Association-Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement is a blueprint for ensuring shared progress and prosperity between India and Norway, and US$100 billion Norwegian investment into the Indian economy over the next 15 years, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a press statement after his state visit to Oslo.

Bilateral relations were elevated to a Green Strategic Partnership which will allow companies from both countries to develop global solutions across sectors – from clean energy to climate resilience, and from the blue economy to green shipping – by combining India’s scale, speed, and talent with Norway’s technology and capital, the PMO said on 18 May.
Research, education, and innovation are also emerging as strong pillars of our relationship. Today, we agreed to expand research cooperation in areas such as sustainability, ocean energy, geology, and health.
In sectors such as engineering, AI, cyber, and digital technologies, universities and startup ecosystems from both countries will connect to make the partnership future ready. Cooperation will be expanded in skill development and talent mobility is also set to expand further.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Indian Space Research Organisation and the Norwegian Space Agency which will give new dimensions to space cooperation between both the countries. Norway supports the operations of India’s Arctic research station, “Himadri”.
