199 projects to be done in 2016-2019.
India’s Sagarmala program has identified an estimated 415 projects, an investment of approximately Rs.8 lakh crores, to be implemented between 2015 and 2035.
The projects are in the areas of port modernization, new port development, port connectivity enhancement, port-linked industrialization and coastal community development. These would be implemented in phases.
The projects are to be taken up by the central line ministries, state governments/maritime boards and Special Purpose Vehicles, preferably through the Public Private Participation (PPP) wherever feasible, said Minster of State for Shipping and Road Transport and Highways, Mansukh L. Mandaviya in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on 18 July 2017.
These are 189 Port Modernisation; 170 Connectivity Enhancement; 33 Port-Linked Industrialisation; and 23 Coastal Community Development.
He said 199 of these are focus projects for implementation during 2016–2019.
Thirty-nine of the port modernization will be implemented in 2016-17, 13 in 2017-18 and 20 in 2018-19.
Forthy-three connectivity enhancement projects will be done during 2016-17, 28 in 2017-18, and 26 in 2018-19.
One port-linked industrialization will be in 2016-17, two in 2017-18 and 17 in 2018-19.
Three coastal community developments will be in 2016-17, three in 2017-18 and four in 2018-19. fii-news.com
