UTC keen to produce laser

Danbury-based #UTC Aerospace Systems is ready to manufacture a large part of its lasers which are used on war assets to track potential attacks.
“We are ready to enter the partnership in India to start manufacturing AN/VVR-3,” said Dr. Richard Wileman, director of international business at UTC Aerospace Systems.
This is the world’s leading system for countering threat from laser guided weapons, explained Dr Wileman at the Aero India 2017.
“We are happy to move straight away (into manufacturing). Only a small component will be done in the US and as much as 65-70 per cent can be made in India,” added Eric Geoffroy, Director for Threat Detection Systems of the AN/VVR3 laser detecting set.
But the company is looking for a contract to commence production under “Made in India” programme.
Rated as one of the best technology, AN/VVR-3 detects range Rangefinder including single-pulse, Designator and Beamrider threats over a 360degree area of coverage.
It is UTC Aerospace Systems’ latest offer to India. fii-news.com
