Crude sought for Padur

Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL) has invited Preliminary Expression of interest for supply of crude oil for storage at 19.4 million barrels at an underground facility Padur which will be ready in the first quarter of 2017.
The Padur facility is connected to the 15 million tonne (MMT) per annum Oil Refinery of Mangalore Refineries and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) which is expanding capacity to 21 MMT per annum soon.
Padur is part of the Integrated Energy Policy, approved in 2008, for hold strategic petroleum reserves for 90 days.
ISPRL, under Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, has built strategic storages at Visakhapatnam, Mangalore and Padur. The Visakhapatnam and Mangalore facilities have already been commissioned. fii-news.com
