Pre-Budget 2023-24 meetings call for EV policy
More than 110 invitees representing 7 stakeholder groups have made a number of suggestions to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for consideration in the Budget 2023-24.
The suggestions included promoting India as a hub for Green Hydrogen, reduction of taxes on electric vehicle and introduction of EV policy.
The stakeholders have also called for continuation of Public Capex, fiscal consolidation and lower customs duties, among others.
Sitharaman chaired the virtual-mode pre-budget consultation meetings for Budget 2023-24. The meetings held 21-28 Nov 2022 were concluded 28 Nov 2022.
The stakeholder groups included representatives and experts from Agriculture and Agro Processing Industry; Industry, Infrastructure & Climate Change; Financial Sector and Capital Markets; Services and Trade; Social Sector; Trade Unions and Labour Organisations and Economists. fiinews.com
