India will launch a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) next week while negotiations are underway for similar trade pacts with the UK, Canada, EU and Israel, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said on 16 Nov 2022.
He also highlighted that developed countries of the world are now keen to do FTAs or comprehensive economic partnerships with India.

“This shows the courage of conviction of the industry in their ability to compete with the best,” he added.
The Minister highlighted the remarkable growth in the mobile industry which has expanded from two manufacturers to nearly 200 manufacturers. “This is a living example of the success.”
