Japanese group commits to making power more affordable
Tokyo-headquartered Hitachi Astemo has installed a 3 megawatt ground mounted solar power unit at its Jalgaon manufacturing plant as part of its mission to become carbon neutral by 2050.
The solar power unit, built on 43,301 sqm consisting of 7,128 ground mounted solar panels and 10 inverters, is the first Solar Power Plant of Hitachi Astemo in India. It is a step towards building a sustainable environment for achieving its mission of becoming carbon neutral by 2050.
The installation of the solar unit is a testimony of Hitachi Astemo’s commitment towards making power more affordable, clean and sustainable.
It will eliminate close to 4,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equal to planting approx.150,000 trees each year and will support in reducing electricity consumption charges.
Additionally, Hitachi Astemo will also commission 1.5 MW solar unit at Jalgaon by March 2023.
