Gadkari says coastal highway provides scenic view of Arabian Sea
The 4-Laning of Goa-Karnataka Border to Kundapur section of NH-17 in the State of Karnataka will be completed in December 2022, while 92.42% of the highway has already been open to traffic, Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said in project update.
He informed that ~173-km of the ~187-km coastal highway link between west and south India has been completed.
The stretch has scenic view of the Arabian sea coast on one side and Western Ghats on the other side, he said in a tweet on 4 July 2022.
Almost 45-km of the highway passes through rolling terrain and 24-km through mountainous terrain.
The project is an example of the Government’s aim to build a world class road infrastructure experience to travellers.
The alignment connects major cities and towns along the way including Panvel, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Panaji, Margao, Karwar, Udupi, Surathkal, Mangalore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari. fiinews.com
