Projects will facilitate eco-friendly, scenic and seamless travel experience for tourists
The National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML) and State Government of Himachal Pradesh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for construction of seven Ropeways in the northern state.
“This is a significant MoU which will facilitate a unique, eco-friendly, scenic and seamless travel experience for tourists,” Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said on 26 April 2022.
The seven ropeway projects will leverage world class technology.
The 57.1-km projects, expected to cost of Rs.3,232 crore, are:
1. 13.5-km Palampur Thatri – Chhunja Glacier will cost of Rs.605 crore.
2. 8-km Shirgul Mahadev Temple to Chudhar ( District – Sirmour) will cost of Rs 250 crore.
3. 3-km Lunhu – Bandla (District – Bilaspur) will cost of Rs.150 crore.
4. 6.5-km Himani to Chamunda (District – Kangra) will cost Rs.289 crore.
5. 3.2-km Bijli Mahadev Temple (District – Kullu) will cost of Rs.200 crore.
6. 2.5-km Bharmour to Bharmani Mata Temple will cost Rs.120 crore.
7. 20.4-km Killar to Sacch Pass (District – Chamba) will cost Rs. 1,618 crore. fiinews.com
