NHAI invite bids for 103 Wayside Amenities on National Highways
The National Highways Authority of India’s (NHAI) Infrastructure Investment Trust (NHAI InvIT) is planning to raise further Rs.3,000 crore, having raised Rs.5,000 since its launch in Nov 2021, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said in a year end review on 31 Dec 2021.
NHAI InvIT, with enterprise value of 5 roads pegged at Rs.8,011.52 crore, are being offered to international and domestic institutional investors.
NHAI InvIT is funded through debt of Rs.2,000 crore from State Bank of India, Axis Bank and Bank of Maharshtra, and the balance is being funded by issuing units of Rs.6,011.52 crore to international and domestic institutional investors, and NHAI as Sponsor.
NHAI has further raised Rs.16,954 crore through the Toll Operate Transfer (ToT) Model for collection and appropriation of Fees for selected operational National Highway (NH) projects constructed through public funding for a pre-determined concession period to concessionaires (developers/investors) against upfront payment of a lump-sum amount to NHAI.
Another 450-km of ToT NHs are Bundled as 6, 7 & 8. Bid are under process, said the Ministry.
The Ministry said NHAI has invited bids for 103 Wayside Amenities (WSAs) on National Highways for development in 2021-22.
NHAI has awarded contracts for 39 WSAs.
In 2020-21, 15 WSAs were under construction and as many as 14 WSAs were in operation under the Ministry of Tourism. fiinews.com
