Editor’s pick: SnapShot

FlareBright Ltd’s SnapShot is an 85-gram micro-drone which is either launched from the ground to a height of 100m or air-launched to glide the final few hundred meters to capture aerial images or deliver small payloads. It uses its sophisticated software to home back to the user or to a specific landing point.
Its USP, in very simple terms, is it can fly in virtually any weather or atmospheric conditions and can function normally with other electromagnetic interference around, and even in electromagnetic denied zones.
The patented technical expertise is the software that links into both accelerometers on the aircraft and its visual system to ensure that it glides back to exactly where it started from.
SnapShot is an extremely robust, small and inexpensive piece of kit from the UK-based FlareBright Ltd.
“We are still in the early days but are making great progress with our in-house testing and will be ready for initial trials with UK Defence sector in the near future,” said Flarebright Ltd’s Chief Commercial Officer, Chris Daniels at the DSEI 2019 which was held in London 10-13 Sept 2019.
“We are very interested in getting to as many markets as possible. By early 2020, we should be running onsite trials and have SnapShot ready for the market.” added Kelvin Hamilton, CEO Flarebright Ltd. fiinews.com
