Fourteen CEZs proposed
Institutional framework, road map and budgetary outlay are being finalized of the first prototype of the 14 Coastal Economic Zones (CEZs) that have been proposed under the National Perspective Plan (NPP) of Sagarmala Programme.
The prototype CEZ concept will be expanded to cover all the 14 CEZs along the Indian coastal areas, said Minister of State for Shipping and Finance, Pon Radhakrishnan, in a written reply Lok Sabha on 20 Dec 2018.
The Minister also informed the House that the Central Line Ministries such as Ministry of Finance, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), NITI Aayog as well as others and concerned State Governments are involved in the development of CEZs. fiinews.com
