ISAS to furthr extend its imprint in South Asia

One of India’s leading strategic thinkers, Professor C. Raja Mohan has been appointed a director of Singapore think tank, the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS).

Welcoming Prof Mohan, ISAS chairman Ambassador Gopinath Pillai said he was to further extend ISAS research on South Asia.

“ISAS has made great strides in the last decade or so. It is important for us to further extend our imprint across South Asia through engagement and research relevant to our stakeholders and policymakers, in particular, and the global academic and research fraternity, in general.”

“I strongly believe that Professor Mohan is well qualified to do that for ISAS. He comes with a wealth of experience on South Asia and its relations with the global powers,” said Pillai.

ISAS is a think tank of the National University of Singapore with focus on South Asia within which India remains a main point for promoting bilaterals between Singapore and India.

Prof. Mohan will concurrently be a visiting research professor at ISAS.

An expert on South Asian security, great-power relations in Asia and arms control, Prof. Mohan is well connected to Singapore and ISAS.

He has been a visiting research professor at ISAS since 2012.

He was also Professor of South Asian Studies at the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, another think tank at Singapore’s at Nanyang Technological University from 2007 to 2009. fii-news.com
