Projects reviewed periodically, says Minister
A total of 350 projects, worth Rs.2.75 lakh crore, are under various stages of development under the 839-project Sagarmala Programme which is expected to cost Rs.5.79 lakh crores, Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has told the Rajya Sabha https://www.commerce.gov.in/.
To date, 280 projects worth Rs.1.42 lakh crore have been completed and 209 projects worth Rs.1.62 lakh crore are under implementation, he said in a written reply to the Sabha https://www.conexpoconagg.com/.
The projects are implemented by Central Ministries, IWAI, Indian Railways, State Government and Major Ports among others.
The Minister gave reasons for delay in implementation of projects. These were mainly due to delay in land acquisition, statutory clearances, local agitation, change in scope among others http://shipmin.gov.in.
