Indian JV has exclusive exploration rights for lithium blocks in Argentina

Feasibility studies are being carried out on five lithium and cobalt projects by Khanij Bidesh India Ltd (KABIL), a Joint Venture Company formed by NALCO, HCL and MECL. The Mines Ministry JV is entrusted with the important mission of identifying, exploring, acquiring, and developing critical & strategic mineral assets overseas https://mines.gov.in/webportal/home for new industries such as electric vehicles.

Mines Secretary V L Kantha Rao informed about the five identified projects at the inauguration of KABIL’s Delhi Office, adding that the joint venture is making concerted efforts to ensure supply of minerals for India’s industrialization programme.

With a steadfast commitment to excellence, KABIL https://kabilindia.in/ is poised to play a crucial role in driving India’s growth and self-sufficiency in the realm of critical and strategic minerals aligning with the objectives of “Make in India” and “Viksit Bharat” while helping the country achieve the Net Zero Emission Goal, Rao said on 11 May 2024.

An instrumental step in KABIL’s journey was the signing of an Exploration and Development Agreement https://www.indembarg.gov.in/ with CAMYEN on 15 January 2024, he informed.

This agreement granted KABIL exclusive exploration rights for five lithium blocks in Argentina https://digitalinasia.com/ , marking a significant stride towards securing a stable supply of lithium, a key component in the production of batteries essential for various industries, including electric vehicles https://evindia.online/ .
