Govt policies have given correct direction for leading climate action, says Arora

Industry participation in climate action and sustainable energy is crucial, Ministry of New and Renewable (MNRE) Joint Secretary Dinesh Dayanand Jagdale underlined at an award ceremony held on 8 Mar 2024.

The Government is working to create a favorable environment for investment in renewable energy, he told delegates at the fourth edition of the CII Climate Action Awards (CAP 2.0°) https://www.greenclimate.fund/.

“Industry action in sustainability https://unfccc.int/ is bringing in a lot of value to mankind and also helps in the efforts of the Government’s citizen centric energy policy.”

Jagdale commended 15 companies that received the Climate Action Recognition at the ceremony.

“It is very heartening to see a diverse set of industries together on this platform, talking about climate action and what industry can do to mitigate, sharing about implementation of climate initiatives and talking about taking the hard line in regards to climate-related investments into the corporate strategy.”

Sharing his views on Industry initiatives in renewables https://www.un.org/en/ , he remarked, “The Ministry has been bringing in different reforms and policies to help the industry grow their energy mix.

“And it is commendable to see how in the last few years, the efforts have materialised not just in the renewable energy mix but also in the overall energy portfolio of the industry.”

Sharing her thoughts on climate actions, Seema Arora, Deputy Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry https://www.cii.in/, highlighted, “Policies led by the Government and by the MNRE as well as the other ministries has given CII Members and Industry the correct direction for leading climate action in their respective organizations.”

The CII Climate Action Programme (CAP) 2.0°, a recognition programme to recognize business actions in combating climate change, acknowledges the climate actions taken by the Indian Industry. Fiinews.com
