JICA provides Rs.1,511.70cr to Tripura-Assam-Meghalaya road connectivity
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved Improvement & Widening to two-lane with paved shoulder of a 134.913 km road from 101.300 km (Khowai) to 236.213 km (Harina) of NH-208 in Tripura.
The Rs.2,486.78 crore project has received a loan of Rs.1,511.70 crore (JPY 23,129 million) from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under Official Development Assistance (ODA) scheme.
The road will provide alternative access to Assam and Meghalaya from Tripura apart from existing NH-8, CCEA said on 27 Dec.
