Goyal discussed potential collaboration under Indo-Pacific Economic Framework

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has called on his Singaporean and South Korean counterparts to expedited conclusion of the review of ASEAN India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) and India-Korea Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), respectively.

He made the call in San Francisco during interactions with Gan Kim Yong, Singapore’s Minister of Trade and Industry, and Dukgeun Ahn, the Korean Minister of Trade.

Goyal has also held bilateral meeting with Katherine Tai, the United States Trade Representative.

During a series of Ministerial meetings, Goyal discussed potential collaboration under the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF), ways and means of further enhancing bilateral trade and commerce linkages, matters related to WTO, and other issues of mutual interest.

Further, the Minister participated in the Investors Round Table organized in collaboration with USISPF and Indiaspora. The event was attended by venture capitalists and entrepreneurs from a wide spectrum of US-based industries, including from the domains of energy, manufacturing, logistics, technology, and so on.

In an interactive session, the Minister held wide ranging discussions with the participants and highlighted the various steps taken by the Government to improve the ease of doing business in India.

Goyal also visited Tesla factory at Fermont.

During the visit starting 13 Nov 2023, he participated in the third in-person IPEF Ministerial meeting, and the engagements of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

He also interacted with eminent business persons, US officials and industry leaders during the visit to fortify partnership between the two nations and strengthen trade and economic ties. Fiinews.com
