Approved investors project Rs.193,926cr turnover on Rs.19,798cr investments
The Government has approved 64 applications with Rs.19,798 crore investment proposals under the Rs.10,683 crore Production Linked Incentive scheme for Textiles, Minister of State for Textiles Darshana Jardosh said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha on 5 Apr 2023.
The 64 applicants have also projected turnover of Rs.193,926 crore from the investments. The Government had received 67 applications for the scheme.
Twelve companies have proposed to set-up projects in Madhya Pradesh, 7 companies in Uttar Pradesh and 4 companies in Rajasthan.
The 5-year PLI promote production of MMF Apparel, MMF Fabrics and Products of Technical Textiles for the industry to achieve size and scale and to become competitive.
The textile industry provides direct employment to around 45 million people in the country, said the Minister. fiinews.com
