Minister Sonowal inaugurates edible oil handling jetty
Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has laid the foundation stones of three projects including development of back up area from oil jetty 8 to 11 worth Rs.98.41 crore at the Deendayal Port, Kandla.
The other two projects are development of 4 lane road from LC236B to C.J- 16 worth Rs.67 crore and the construction of dome shaped storage shed in cargo jetty worth Rs.39.66 crore.
He has also inaugurated Rs.270 crore projects at the port.
The main inaugurated project was a Rs.73.92 crore 110-m jetty no.7 for handling 2.00 MMTPA of mainly edible oil from the large size of vessel up to 65,000 DWT and 14 m depth.
Meanwhile, the Ministry said 26 projects worth Rs.22,700 crore are under development out of its 74 identified projects worth Rs.57,000 crore under the Sagarmala Programme.
The programme is progressing with 33 projects worth Rs.25,000+ crore under implementation and 26 projects wroth Rs.22,700 crore having been completed.
These projects are being implemented by central line ministries, major ports, state maritime board and other state agencies. fiinews.com
