Focus is to skill young Indians as a large skilled workforce for the world, says Minister
The Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur has invited businesses from the United Arab Emirates to collaborate with Indian counterparts in the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector, assuring that changes in country’s policy can also be implemented if needed.
He also met the UAE’s Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimi and held a series of discussions with industry leaders from film and entertainment space in India and the UAE, including a meeting with Olivier Bramley, CEO, Media & Entertainment, E-Vision.
Among other CEOs, Thakur met Neeraj Roy, founder of Hungama Digital Media and Harit Nagpal, MD and CEO of Tata Play.
Thakur, on a two-day visit to Dubai expo, also launched Training for Emirates Jobs And Skills (TEJAS), a Skill India international project to train overseas Indians.
The project is aimed at skilling, certification and overseas employment of Indians. Tejas is aimed at creating pathways to enable Indian workforce to get equipped for skill and market requirements in the UAE.
