Vedanta produces 30% of oil in India
Vedanta Limited Chairman Anil Agarwal has called on foreign investors to form partnerships with Indian entrepreneurs to participate in the country’s premium energy market, saying time has come to exploit more opportunities.
“India is a land of Entrepreneurs. My suggestion to foreign investors is please tie up with the Indian entrepreneurs and they will design ways for you because you need a local partner for a premium market,” he said at the India Pavilion of EXPO 2020 in Dubai on 18 Nov 2021.
“We believe in India. I have always said (that) India is a very special place with 1.4 billion people. With our upbeat operations, Vedanta is the producer of 30% of oil in India,” said Agarwal at a round table on prospects in the Indian hydrocarbon sector.
“A country like ours needs to be assured that we can produce oil for our own consumption. The way the current Government has opened up doors, the time has come where we will see more opportunities,” Agarwal said at the “Opportunities in Oil & Gas Sector” round table led by Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
As India is the 3rd largest oil consumer in the world and the 4th largest LNG importer, the round table provided an in-depth understanding on opportunities in India to National Oil Companies, International Oil & Gas Groups, Sovereign Funds and Institutional Investors.
