Cabinet approves MoU on Geosciences exploitation
The Joint Stock Company Rosgeologia (ROSGEO), a State holding Company of the Russian Federation, and the Geological Survey of India (GSI) of Ministry of Mines, are to explore for deep-seated, concealed mineral deposit and conduct analysis and interpretation of the aero-geophysical data obtained in India.
The Moscow-headquartered ROSGEO and GSI will also conduct platinum-group elements (PGE) and Rare Earth Element (REE) Exploration and Research. The parntership will jointly develop the Indian Geoscience Data repository with the Russian state-of-the-art Information Technology as well as exchange technology & knowledge in the field of drilling, sampling and laboratory analysis to achieve data accuracy and cost optimization.
Among other programmes, training and capacity building of scientific personnel will be carried out by “both the parties in the fields of Geosciences”, said the Cabinet which approved the ROSGEO-GSI MOU on 8 Sept 2021.
A ROSGEO delegation had discussed with GSI the perspectives of Cooperation in exploration works during 2020 visit to New Delhi. The MoU is result of that meeting.
ROSGEO is the largest geological state holding company in the Russian Federation with a developed production and technical capabilities, high professional competences and a unique scope of accumulated geological information.
