Businesses should work as strategic partners, says Malhotra

Indian and Russian trade officials and businesses have discussed at an industry webinar the potential of bilateral approaches and collaborations in industries such as agriculture and agro-processing, coking coal, chemicals and petrochemicals, IT, education, healthcare, vaccine diplomacy, energy, transport, and infrastructure, steel including specialty steels, and ceramics for the international markets.

Dr. Aseem Vohra, First Secretary, Economic & Commercial Wing, Embassy of India, listed about 15 sectors of possible collaboration between the Indian States Telangana, Maharashtra, and Haryana and two Russian Provinces Samara and Novosibirsk. These include agriculture and agro-processing, coking coal, chemicals and petrochemicals, IT, education, healthcare, vaccine diplomacy, energy, transport, steel including specialty steels, and ceramics.

“Interregional cooperation between India and Russia is a cornerstone in enhancing bilateral cooperation and the Trade Representation of Russia in India is ready to offer assistance to Indian companies, planning to invest in Russia and vice versa”, Alexander Leonidovich Rybas, Trade Commissioner, Trade Representation of Russia to India, assured an ASSOCHAM business webinar on 10 Feb 2021.

“Russian-Indian cooperation is of strategic interest for Business Russia companies. Today, we have a large number of companies, including from two Russian regions of Novosibirsk and Samara, as well as three states of India – Haryana, Telangana, Maharashtra,” said Olga Kulikova, Business Ambassador of Business Russia to India.

The Indian and Russian businesses should work as strategic partners and collaborate on interregional cooperation which is important for achieving trade and investment targets, added Preeti Malhotra, Chairperson, ASSOCHAM National Council for Corporate Affairs & Chairman, Smart Bharat Group. #investment #collaboration #projects #exports #trade /fiinews.com
