Ministry expects Rs.30,000cr investment
Ministry of Railways expects about Rs.30,000 crores from 102 selected private sector investors following the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for running Passenger Trains over Indian Railway Network.
This will see private participation in the operation of passenger train services over 12 Clusters comprising more than 150 Origin Destination pair of routes through the introduction of 151 modern Trains.
This is the first major initiative of attracting private investment for running Passenger Trains over the Indian Railway Network, said the Ministry.
The RFQ for 12 clusters were published on 1 July 2020.
The applications were opened on 7 October 2020 due date.
The Ministry said it has received an excellent response and has completed the evaluation of Applications.
Out of 120 applications, 102 applications are eligible to participate in the RFP stage, the Ministry said on 19 Nov 2020. #tenders #projects #investments #infrastructure /fiinews.com
