Phoolbagan Metro station inaugurated
Funds would be available to implement any rail project if the land is available and encroachments are removed, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has reassured.
“If the land is made available and encroachments are removed then funds won’t be a constraint for implementing any Railway project,” he said at the inauguration Phoolbagan Metro station of East-West Metro on 4 Oct 2020.
Goyal also flagged off the first train from the newly inaugurated Phoolbgan station through video link.
The extension of services from Salt Lake Stadium to Phoolbagan (a stretch of 1.665-km) will be a great help for the commuters more so because of its proximity to Sealdah station, he added.
The 16.5-km project cost Rs.8,574.98 crore and connects Howrah on the West bank of the River Hooghly with Salt Lake City on its East bank.
