India is a key market for Changi Airport, with annual traffic between the two countries exceeding 4.8 million passenger movements, Lim Ching Kiat, Changi Airport Group managing director said.

Speaking at the launch of GoAir flight from Singapore to Kolkata on 19 Oct 2019, lim said GoAir connecting Kolkata and Bengaluru with Singapore will deepen the airport’s connectivity with India.

“Passengers travelling on GoAir will be able to experience the unique offerings of our newest terminal, T4, which features a fully automated departure process, specially curated art installations and a wide variety of retail and dining options that will delight any passenger, he said.

Welcoming the GoAir’s service, G B Srithar, Regional Director (India, Middle East & South Asia),el Singapore Tourism Board, said, “We are excited and happy to welcome GoAir to Singapore.

In expanding its flight network by connecting Kolkata and Bengaluru with Singapore, GoAir will give wider flight choices and travel time options to travellers from two of our very important visitor source cities.

“India is the third largest visitor source market for Singapore and flight connectivity from 15 points across India has enabled the good number of travelers,” he said.

In 2018, Singapore received more than one million visitors from India for the fourth time in a row.

India is also the top source market for cruise travel. As we enter the year-end holiday and festival season, it is a great time to visit Singapore.

Bob Chi, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing at SATS, said, “We are happy to announce our partnership with GoAir as the ground handling and inflight catering partner for the airline’s Changi Airport operations.

“This partnership marks the start of a strong bond between SATS and GoAir.

“The airline is on an impressive growth path covering 8 destinations just months from starting international operations. We extend a warm welcome to GoAir to Singapore,” Chi said.

GoAir celebralted its inaugural flight G8 28 to Bengaluru on Saturday 19 October at 0450 hours. Similarly, the first flight G8 36 to Kolkata from Singapore took off from Terminal 4, Changi Airport Sunday 20 October 2019 at 0440 hours.
