Maize processing facility planned
Punjab will set up a third mega food park at Phagwara, an investment of Rs.125 crore, reported Tribune News Service on 5 Apr 2019.
To be operational by October 2019, the facility will be a third park after the first two at Fazilka and Ludhiana.
The Rs.140 crore Fazilka park is by International Mega Food Park Ltd.
The Rs.120 crore Ludhiana park was set up by Punjab Agro Industries Corporation. It is partially operational.
Currently under construction, the Phagwara Park will be commissioned by October 2019, said Bhavdeep Sardana, CEO, Sukhjit Starch & Chemicals Ltd, the investor in the park.
Sukhjit Starch will also be setting up a maize-processing facility with a daily grinding capacity of 600 tonnes per day, an additional Rs.150 crore investment. fiinews.com
