Ambitious TITP programme for Indian interns

Japan will provide on-job training for 300,000 Indian youths as part of the Indian government’s skill development programme, the skill development and entrepreneurship minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said.

Japan will also bear the financial cost of the skill training of Indian technical interns over a period covering three to five years, he said after the Cabinet has approved signing of Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) between India and Japan on the “Technical Intern Training Program (TITP)”.

Pradhan will signed the MoC during his three day visit to Tokyo from 16 October.

“TITP is an ambitious program to send three lakh Indian technical interns to Japan for on the job training for a period of three to five yrs,” Pradhan said in a tweet.

“Each skilled youth going there will have a tenure of 3-5 years. These youth will work in the Japanese ecosystem and get employment opportunities there along with accommodation facility,” he said. fii-news.com
