NAM earmarks Rs.440 crore for medical facilities.
The government has approved 39 hospitals, each of 50-bed, from 45 proposals received during 2016-17, said Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge), Shripad Yesso Naik in reply to a question in Lok Sabha on 28 July 2017.
These are under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), which has a provision of setting up of up to 50-bed integrated AYUSH Hospital.
NAM has earmarked Rs.440.00 Crore for different activities including upgrade/setting up of new AYUSH hospitals/dispensaries during the current year.
Implementation of approved projects comes under purview of State/Union Territories Governments.
The Government has also approved setting up of Post Graduate Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy Education and Research at Nagmangla (Karnataka) and Jhajjar (Haryana) costing Rs.59.67 Crores and Rs. 52.04 crores, respectively. fii-news.com
