26 Sewage projects approved for Clean Ganga Mission

Central government to provide 100% funding for projects

The central government has approved 26 Sewage Treatment Projects worth Rs.2,154.28 crore in UP, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Delhi under the Namami Gange Programme or National Mission for Clean Ganga.

The new projects are being given 100% central funding.

The projects will help reduce pollution load in Ganga, largely polluted by untreated effluent discharge.

The projects will create approximately 188 Million Liters per Day (MLD) of new capacity, rehabilitate 596 MLD capacity and upgrade 30 MLD of existing capacity.

It will also involve interception and diversion of sewage network of 145.05 km.

The projects sanctioned are as under:

New

Haridwar (Jagjeetpur and Sarai), cost Rs. 273.37 crore, capacity 82 MLD.

Joshimath, cost Rs.48.43 crore, capacity 3.78 MLD.

Rudraprayag, cost Rs.13.15 crore, capacity 0.525 MLD.

Karnaprayag, cost Rs. 12.09 crore, capacity 0.15 MLD.

Kirtinagar, cost Rs.4.23 crore, capacity 0.6 MLD.

Rishikesh, cost Rs.158.01 crore, capacity 27 MLD.

Muni Ki Reti, cost Rs.80.45 crore, capacity 12.5 MLD.

Chamoli, Gopeshwar, cost Rs.61.63 crore, capacity 4.37 MLD.

Badrinath, cost Rs.18.24 crore, capacity 1.01 MLD.

Srinagar, cost Rs.22.51 crore, capacity 1 MLD.

Nandprayag, cost Rs.6.46 crore, capacity 1.5 MLD.

Ramana, Varanasi, cost Rs.150.95 crore, capacity 50 MLD.

Rajmahal, cost Rs.50.23 crore, capacity 3.5 MLD.
Rehabilitation

Jagjeetpur, Haridwar, cost Rs.14.60 crore, capacity 27 MLD.

Vrindavan, cost Rs.33.82 crore, capacity 5 MLD.

Okhla, Delhi, cost Rs.665.78 crore, capacity 564 MLD.

Upgrade

Tapovan, Rishikesh, cost Rs.2.19 crore, capacity 3.5 MLD.

Uttarkashi, cost Rs.10.03 crore, capacity 2 MLD.

Sarai, Haridwar, cost Rs.9.63 crore, capacity 18 MLD.

Swargashram, cost Rs.4.52 crore, capacity 3 MLD.

Srinagar-Garhwal, cost Rs.15.41 crore, capacity 3.5 MLD.
I&D Works :

Jagjeetpur, Zone A, B, C, D, E of Haridwar, cost Rs.85.14 crore.

Sarai, Zone F in Haridwar, cost Rs.31.46 crore.

Sewerage Network:

Karmalichak, Patna, cost Rs.277.42 crore, 96.54-km.

Replacement of rising mains in Kondli, cost 59.13, 8.14-km.

Rising main from Bharat Nagar to Pitampura, cost Rs. 45.40 crore, 6.16-km. fii-news.com
