Goyal’s update on solar and wind projects.

India has installed 8,727.64 MW of solar power and 2,8279.40 MW of wind power end of October, Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines, told Lok Sabha on December 8, 2016.

Goyal said his Ministry has released Rs.1,667.99 crores and Rs. 366.47 crores for installation of solar and wind energy projects, respectively, as at 31st October 2016, in the country.

“The potential of wind and solar in the country has been estimated to be 302,251 MW and 784,990 MW respectively”, he added. fii-news.com
