Statue of Unity
Work on Statue of Unity in Gujarat is progressing, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism (Independent Charge) Dr. Mahesh Sharma said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Nov. 30, 2016.
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has secured contracts for the Construction of Statue of Unity being implemented by Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd. (SSNNL) in Gujarat.
The project is expected to cost Rs.3,060.88 crore, of which Rs.2,332 crore is for construction and Rs.657 crore for Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for 15 years after completion.
A consortium of foreign companies have been awarded Project Management Consultancy contract, estimated to cost Rs.55.63 crore.
Tata Egis Ltd has received a Proof Consultancy work worth about Rs.16.25 crore.
SSNNL, a state undertaking, has till date provided Rs.300 for the project. fii-news.com
