Flatchat, a mobile-based platform which helps people find rental homes, tenants, and roommates, is now available in Singapore.

With over 100,000 users, Flatchat is among the top-rated real estate apps in India.

Finding a home to rent or a tenant to rent it out to in Singapore is known to be an exhausting experience. Most people spend huge sums of money to hire property agents or have to depend on traditional property-listing websites. Flatchat connects potential flatmates, property owners, and home seekers by matching them with each other based on location and requirement. Connected users can then chat with each other. A Flatchat assistant is also present to help users with queries.

Recently, the company ran a pre-launch campaign in which interested people were invited to sign up as an early user. The campaign received over a thousand sign-ups in just ten days. Flatchat also has a Facebook group by the name ‘Rooms and Roommates Singapore’ which boasts of over 2,000 active users already. The mobile application is available to Android and iOS users.

Flatchat’s entry into Singapore is being led by its Head of Operations, Sachin who says of the expansion: “Singapore is one of the densest technology hubs of the world. And yet, the approach to real estate rentals here is still mostly traditional and highly expensive. Our idea is to make home rentals more about people than about transactions, which is why we are confident that our mobile-only approach will sit well with Singapore’s smartphone-savvy audience. Technology is the future of everything, so why should rentals lag behind.”

Founded in 2014, Flatchat is backed by CommonFloor.com, India’s leading real estate platform. Speaking on the matter, Sumit Jain, co-founder, CommonFloor.com, said, “We are excited for the Flatchat team and the journey that they are embarking on. The objective of simplifying and solving accommodation concerns for students and bachelors in Singapore holds a great opportunity. As a first mover in creating value by building a customer-centric eco system for real estate, we are confident of the immense growth potential in this decision to go international. It is a major step in driving future readiness through technology and will translate into growth, for both Flatchat as well as CommonFloor.”

Flatchat connects potential flatmates, prospective owners, and seekers by providing matches based on location and requirement. It also provides an accommodation assistant to help with queries and technical issues.

Flatchat is a platform which aims at connecting a seeker with flat owners and flatmates without them having to go through brokers. Flatchat currently caters to the Indian market primarily in Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

When sharing a flat, the most important thing is whom you are going to share it with. With just a Facebook profile required to get started, Flatchat matches people and needs. A chat service then takes it forward till the customer’s needs are met. fii-news.com
