Cricketer MS Dhoni of Chennai Super Kings is paid USD3 million, topping the earnings from the USD7 billion Indian Premier League, according to data compiled by the United Kingdom-based Talent Labs.
Yuvraj Singh of Delhi Daredevils is second highest, paid with USD2.67 million, followed by Gautam Gambhir of Kolkata Knight Riders who earns USD2.4 million from IPL, said Talent Labs which has a special software for compiling data on matches, covering fees, performances, runs and scores.
“As we start to build a client base in India for our people analytics software, we decided to take a close look at the talent pool of IPL Cricket,” said Sam Jones, Founder of Talent Lab and the People Analytics Software which released its first report on India yesterday.
The IPL is the most-watched Twenty20 league worldwide. The brand value of the 2014 IPL was estimated at US$7.2 billion, said Jones, pointing out that IPL was the best point to start with given its religious fervor in India.
“Cluster by Nationality. We see that 50% of the group are Indian, 16.7% West Indian, 16.7% Australian, 13.3% South African, 3.3% New Zealand (Brendon McCullum),” Jones explained the software ability to analyze human capital in sports and corporations.
Talent Labs is in the midst of setting up an office in India, having already established in the United Kingdom, US. “We have just opened an office in Singapore last month,” he said.
In India, the firm is looking for partners, especially human capital experts with access to different industries and global consulting firms for Outsource/recruitments people providers, said Jones.
The software analyses employees of large organizations with specifics on productivity, key performance indicators among others.
