Uniphore Software Systems, Chennai-based speech recognition solutions company, has appointed Douglas Peris as General Manager, Asia Pacific & Middle East.
Douglas will be based in Singapore and will be responsible for new customer acquisitions and expanding partner relationships in the two regions.

Douglas has more than three decades of experience in telecom and technology sectors and has also founded two companies in Singapore. Prior to his appointment at Uniphore Software Systems, Douglas was Co-Founder & CEO at AdZtream.
He has worked with diverse set of organisations in Singapore, Philippines and Australia across large telecom, technology and consulting companies namely Avaya, British Telecom, Telstra, Group Four Consulting, Unisys Australia and Wavecom. During his five year stint with British Telecom as VP, Global Customer Service Operations, he was responsible for all the aspects of service operations, in-life customer experience, 3rd party Telco channel services and supplier performance in the entire Asia Pacific region. At Avaya, Douglas was the Regional Director for the Asia Pacific region, where he led Avaya’s managed services group.
Douglas has a Bachelor’s of Business Degree in Information Systems and Post Graduate Diploma in Business & Finance from Edith Cowan University, Australia and has done his Masters in Management Information Systems, Management, Finance and IT from Edith Cowan University, Australia.
