Korean expertise for SCR Catalysts
Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has entered into a Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) with South Korea’s NANO Co Ltd for design and manufacture of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Catalysts for De-NOx application in Coal fired power plants, to be commissioned or retrofitted with high capacity emission control equipment.
To comply with the norms of SOx and NOx emission, issued by the Ministry of Environment and Forest for thermal power plants, BHEL is geared up to provide complete, state-of-the-art solutions by offering suitable flue gas clean-up and emission control systems.
The agreement will enable BHEL to enhance its offerings for emission control systems (De-NOx applications) and covers state-of-the-art technology for designing, engineering and manufacturing of SCR Catalysts.
Following the agreement, BHEL will be the first Indian company to possess technology and manufacturing capabilities for Plate type SCR Catalysts as part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
South Korea-based NANO is a leading manufacturer of SCR Catalysts and associated raw materials and has supplied SCR Catalysts to various countries such as Germany, France, Italy, China and Taiwan. fiinews.com
